Overview
As a Board Member of KindLight Ministries, you will serve as a vital steward of our mission—to reflect the heart of Christ through acts of compassion, hope, and encouragement. You’ll help shape the direction of a growing ministry designed to bring light into the lives of children and families facing chronic illness, emotional hardship, and deep need.
This is more than a title—it’s a calling to serve, lead, and build something that truly matters.
Key Responsibilities
Mission Stewardship – Uphold and promote the mission, vision, and values of KindLight Ministries.
Governance – Participate in strategic planning, policy development, and accountability practices to ensure the ministry operates with excellence and integrity.
Support & Advocacy – Serve as an ambassador of the ministry in your community and network. Help raise awareness and support for our programs.
Advisory Leadership – Provide insight, wisdom, and feedback based on your background and gifts, helping guide important decisions as we grow.
Board Participation – Attend regular board meetings (quarterly or as scheduled), and contribute to committee or project work as needed.
Time Commitment
Approximately 2–5 hours per month, including:
Quarterly board meetings (in-person or virtual)
Occasional special meetings, planning sessions, or events
Personal availability to support ministry needs based on your skills
Desired Qualifications
We are seeking individuals who:
Have a heart for service and a desire to reflect Christ’s love
Possess experience in any of the following: nonprofit development, administration, healthcare, fundraising, education, finance, or ministry
Are willing to use their time, influence, and skills to support a growing nonprofit
Believe in the power of kindness, light, and community presence
Financial Expectations
While there is no required financial contribution, board members are encouraged to:
Support the ministry at a personally meaningful level
Help identify funding opportunities or connections when able
Lead by example in generosity and commitment
Term
Board terms are typically 2 years, with the option for renewal
Founding members may help shape initial governance structures
